CityServe is a movement that encourages, equips, and empowers the Body of Christ to love and serve the city through united, long-term efforts focused on the city’s greatest needs. CityServe was first launched in Portland, Oregon in the summer of 2008 when Christian leaders, in consultation with city officials, mobilized more than 27,000 volunteers to serve throughout the months prior to the Luis Palau festival in Portland in 2008.
In Lane County, CityServe will consist of eleven months of churches joining together to serve our community in collaborative ways including school partnerships, vulnerable children & families, affordable housing, as well as many additional service opportunities. Our serving together will lead to long-lasting impact and our community seeing Jesus more clearly. It will culminate in CityFest’s all-day festival on July 28 at PK Park.
Below you’ll find initial information about how your church can engage in the areas of community need that we believe God is calling us to impact together.
